Best in a LONG while.
Hmm., where to start?. First a critic i am not nor do i pretend to be. Second i cannot and will not compare this game with other games released now or previously, it's not the way to do a review, this is my input only. Battlefield Bad Company rocked my world when inserted into my trusty Xbox 360, i fired up the Sony surround and clicked on the Toshiba 37" 1080i and hunkered down with my faithful companion "Zepper", a Dachshund who has enjoyed video games with me for 14 years now and waited through the intro full well expecting to be blown away by the awesome gameplay of sights and sounds. Welllllll let me tell you i was instantly in love with the game from the music to the character animation right down to the humor and weapon sounds. I had read somewhere that some damage modeling was incorporated and you could blow stuff up, but i was not prepared for the amount that was destructible!, trees, bridges, buildings, you can, to a point, even terra form the surrounding landscape if that be your desire.
Playing the game gets a bit tedious at times, you need to complete objectives before you can advance, but with some ingenuity and a little imagination you can turn that tedium into a great time. This game from my stand point and my opinion was/is very enjoyable. Online play is a different world all together. The graphics stay crisp, everything runs smooth with minimal glitching, the servers for the most part rarely bog down, although you will find yourself standing still or kneeling setting up a sniper shot when all of a sudden you might start "sliding" left or maybe right but as i recall thats only happend two or three times to me out of countless hours of online play.
Ok i have said enough, or maybe not enough?, rent, buy or borrow this game you will not be dissapointed, try not to compare it with other games in the same genre but keep a open mind and enjoy it for it's originality and for having the balls to go where other games have gone before, and do it well they did.
Thats my take on Battlefield Bad Company, happy gaming recruits and lifers alike.

A Solid Game
I enjoyed this game but I got the impression from the commercials that this was going to be a more lighthearted game. I realize that war games aren't supposed to be wacky good-times, but the commercials made it sound like humor was going to be more a part of the game than it was. There is some, just not as much as I expected. It is good as a straight war-oriented game and I enjoyed it on that level, however.

Okay but doesnt last too long
when i bought this i was impressed, loved to blow stuff up ya know the campaign was fun with the short cinematics and sort of funny acts but after that u have multiplayer next, good after a while but the one mode they had of capture the gold got me sick of the game fast until conquest came and got me on it a little bit more but really samething really wont last that long.Until the future were their will be more download content for this game it will be good like more flying vehicles..

The best WWII shooter so far
I know I am strange...a grandfather who enjoys playing games on the XBox. I bought it to entice my 14 y/o grandson. I have played several games on my PC and now several on the XBox. I much prefer the controls you have with the XBox.
This game is plain fun. It is rather difficult, even in the "easy" mode. I got my grandson to help me through one particularly tough spot. I never thought to land my sick helicopter and look for a repair kit!

Sweet but flawed
Aiming is weird. a potential buyer should definately not expect a call of duty 4 experience. the controls are ok. graphics pretty cool but not crisp (i play on 1080). The biggest thing i complain about is the need to watch how you shoot. for example you aim at someones chest and by the first second you pull the trigger the aiming reticule flys way up. It takes some patience to get it down. Multiplayer is pretty cool. lots of unlockables and a ranking system. its definatly a good substitute for halo 3 or cod 4 if youre getting desperate. Overall i'd buy it again but remember its no cod 4. but seriously what could beat call of duty 4 besides the next cod.
