With the 'New Xbox Experience' allowing one to install games onto the hard drive, I wanted to upgrade. The new hard drive included a transfer cable and CD used to move your existing files from your old to the new hard drive.

This hard drive is necessary if you have the original XBOX. The original Hard Drive was only 12 gb. This is 10 x larger and very easy to change in the machine. The price at amazon was .00 less than any other store either online or not.
Why you must need this
Thanks to the new updated Xbox 360 live dashboard, you're allow to install the game into the hard drive (but you still need the disc in the drive to verify to play)
why install it to the hard drive? simple... to keep your system cooler, stop it from getting hot, no noise, no spinning and best of all: reduce loading time.!
I have the 60gb (came with my xbox 360) . I have 5 games so far and each takes about 5-6gb so I am pretty much out of space..enough for some demo and xbox live content.
I would recommend the 120gb.
